Product Description:
A reliable and precise analytical method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of trifluoperazine hydrochloride and chlordiazepoxide hydrochloride in a binary mixture using reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RP-LC). The method employs a mobile phase consisting of methanol and water in the ratio of 97:03 (v/v), delivered at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. Detection is carried out using ultraviolet spectroscopy at a wavelength of 262 nm, ensuring optimal sensitivity for both compounds.
The method demonstrates excellent linearity over concentration ranges of 0.1–1 μg/ml for trifluoperazine hydrochloride and 0.5–5 μg/ml for chlordiazepoxide hydrochloride. High levels of accuracy were achieved, with mean recoveries of 101.05±0.47% and 98.97±0.33%, respectively, indicating the method’s reliability.
Importantly, the procedure has been successfully applied to tablet dosage forms without any interference from excipients, confirming its specificity. Additionally, the method maintained its accuracy and precision when validated using the standard addition technique. Overall, this RP-LC method is suitable for routine quality control and quantitative analysis of this pharmaceutical combination in solid dosage forms.
